    Westwood Landscape worked with Architects UJP on this prestigious extension and standalone luxury spa facility. The gardens have just been completed which were designed, project managed and planted by the Westwood team which include themed oriental and rose gardens, dining terraces, yoga area, and a car park extension which required major earthworks and retaining walls. We have now been commissioned to design the Borrowdale Hotel gardens for the same client Lake District Hotels.

    Westwood are working with the Woodland Trust, National Trust, Yorkshire Water and White Rose Forest to identify sites and design proposed woodland and other natural flood management proposals for the Upper Calder Landscape for Water project in Yorkshire which is part of the Northern Forest strategy. The work includes landscape assessment, analysis and design. Earlier phases of the project are currently being implemented with Westwood assisting with project management for 6 separate contracts.

The show gardens were completed in May 2018 ready for the launch of the site. This is one of eight housing projects we are currently working on for Story Homes in the region which includes design commissions and Landscape Assessment work for new sites.

    Our design team have worked with Unwin Jones Architects and client CS Hotels Ltd to develop a Landscape Masterplan for the re-development of this prestigious established hotel. The submission to the local planning authority has included a Tree Survey Report and Landscape Management Plan to accompany the Master Landscape Plans. The first phase of planting work has now been implemented by Westwood including a tree avenue along the driveway and contemporary planting displays at the entrances to add instant visual impact and enhance the overall look and image of the hotel.

    Westwood Landscape have been working closely with the Woodland Trust, National Trust, Yorkshire Water, White Rose Forest and the local planning authorities to develop designs on the first four large sites in Yorkshire which form part of the wider Northern Forest proposals. These projects include extensive new broadleaved woodlands, moorland habitat restoration and natural flood management techniques to reduce flooding risk. Funding has been secured and the contract work for the first phase is underway and will extend until December 2020.
